In the afternoon I did an interview before the show I was tired and not on form but the journalist thought that Glenn and I were the Stealy Dan of South London. High praise. The show tonight was tight like a recording and very Dan, it was like the red light was on and we were recording. It was a fine take. The days of darting around and being in a groove seem faint. It’s enjoyable in a mature way. We are the cheese. I’m so tired though that coping is all I can do. The merch went on for over an hour I was dead on my feet, sorry but when nature calls time you have to rest, and indeed be allowed to yawn. I’m waiting for Godot because we are all waiting for something and when we get there, we will know. I drove after the show to London with Melvin, like old times as we used to tour together moons ago. He is good company calm and understanding in a Melvin way. We drove once from Italy to Brighton in one hit and once from Chicago to New York, Melvin slept in the back. I let him out once we arrived at the hotel. In 1980 at Milton Keynes we were supporting the Police and UB40. Can’t remember much about that one, I can just about remember tonight.
