Barton Upon Humber

Back up the country this time to the other side to just below Hull, a gig in the Ropery. I really like it here, Mark is a lovely man, he who promotes, and the curry back stage is always a winer, and it was. The room was almost full and the journey seemed easy it being a Saturday afternoon. My head was full of retirement and change on the old M1, my head, it was full of last year I was over heating with reminders. On stage we played well and the night was fun, we had a right laugh. I checked into my hotel close by, there was a wedding on, all very casual and calm, i went to my room with a cheese board and then whack the band took off right below my room. Brown sugar, tears of a clown, hi ho silver lining it was chaos, I gave up and swam in it’s glory, I sat on my bed and became part of this life. My room shook and then I lost and hours sleep on top as the clocks went forward. I thought about the funny side of life and how you couldn’t write this stuff, but there it is. The cheese board was rank, I think I ended up eating butter.
