Barton Upon Hull

A great show, what a swing from last night, nice people great sound, small but full venue, tidy and clean. A good curry, our last of the tour. In the car and home. A big day, with local ice cream as well. John is from Hull, he looked wistful as we crossed the bridge with the chocolate river.

Chris - Really enjoyed the Barton show from start to finish, I had reservations about the projection idea but it really enhanced the songs. Your photo life story to labelled with Love was touching and lent new meaning to the song. Loved Cowboys and Battersea boys -these songs deserve a wider audience.Thought your voice worked really well with Dorrie's. All the Squeeze stuff sounded really good.
Both support sets were worth the admission alone and it was great to see that you obviously all get on well.
I was really dismayed to read some of your gigs have been played to thorougly rude audiences who are more interested in getting drunk than listening.I thought the audience at Barton was great and whilst a little restrained, certainly appreciated both you and Ella, Emily and Dorrie. You should write a song about ignorant rude audiences. If you are passing our way again Pocklington Arts Centre near York is a lovely small venue with a very similar appreciative audience.Viewing your Journal makes me appreciate the slog of touring with long after show drives and waiting around in crappy dressing rooms. I hope it helps to know that at least some of us really appreciate the end result. Keep doing it!
